Chaplin Comes Through For Patriots (5/23/2007) - Lake Region High School 2 at Patriots 4

Joe Billings earned his second win of the season and Clement shut the door on the Lakers to earn his first save of the year as the Patriots defeated Lake Region High School, 4 to 2, at Gray.

In his five and one-third innings of work, Billings allowed just one base on balls and two runs to score. Clement entered the game in relief in the sixth and struck out four batters in his inning and two-thirds.

Sophomore Owen Chaplin connected for two hits and drove home three key runs for the Patriots, including the eventual game winner. Brent Sawyer and Clement also had a pair of hits for Gray-New Gloucester. Cody Humphrey’s RBI-double in the sixth inning helped score a much-needed insurance run.
