Patriots win in exciting fashion (4/18/2009) - North Yarmouth Academy 3 at Patriots 4

GNG opened the season in dramatic fashion. After giving up 3 unearned runs in the top of the 7th, the Patriots responded with an exciting bottom of the 7th.
Trailing 3-0 Taylor Valente led off the inning with a towering homerun to left field. After a walk to Joe Billings and a base hit by Tom Rich, the Patriots brought the winning run to the plate with no one out.
Billings scored on a fielders choice by Trevor McCutcheon. After two outs, the Patriots loaded the bases for leadoff hitter Owen Chaplin. Chaplin delivered a 1-1 fastball into left field scoring Tyler Seliga and McCutcheon with the walk off win.
Pitcher Joe Billings recorded the complete game victory allowing 3 unearned runs on five hits, 6 strikeouts, and 4 walks
